Hi there and welcome,

What is the leadership mindset?

First, what is leadership? I asked this question in a Facebook group full of all kinds of leaders and the response I got back was:

A leader: encourages, supports, is person not position-related, is service oriented, is humble, a role model, problem solver, listens, takes action and is responsible, grows other leaders, has followers, has a vision, inspires, motivates, takes a risk to pave the way, leads from the inside out, has empathy, shows up, perseveres, is vulnerable, is a continuous learner and knows that leadership is a journey not a destination.

Through these answers you can see that leadership is not always about position; it is much more. Leadership is about your character, and how it shows up in your life.

What is mindset? According to Merriam Webster dictionary, it is: A mental attitude or inclination, tendency or habit.

Therefore, a leadership mindset is the mindset that embraces, vision, courage and action. It is the perfect blending of an idea or state of mind and the action and character that leads to success.

The most powerful tool in the leader’s toolbox is the mind. It is the difference between success and failure. It is what makes Olympic athletes, millionaires and billionaires; it is the thing that makes you a better parent, husband, wife, partner, employee or citizen. It is the change that makes dreams happen.

A long time ago, I had a vision and passion that included helping others to have a powerful faith walk. My faith walk has helped me overcome fear, barriers, self-doubt, and confront and slay the giants in my life-to be the head and not the tail, to lead. I will share how I took back my personal power, stood up for myself and how I became brave-to change my mindset to change my life.

My intention is to share practical leadership tips, small things that make a big difference. While cruising the site, I invite you to visit my God Downloads page. They are messages of encouragement, hope and inspiration aimed at bravery, character and all things leadership. For me, God is the driving force behind all I do, believe and the leadership mindset.
